Abstract:To provide more routing flexibility and a more convenient service in delivery processes, we extend the Pickup and Delivery Problem with multiple service locations with their own time windows, from which only one will be used. Furthermore, we introduce preference possibilities for each option, and aim for finding solutions that have a balance in minimizing total travel costs and (customer) dissatisfaction. To this end, we use an Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search algorithm. Simulation experiments indicate that having a multiple location scenario is beneficial compared to the corresponding single location scenario.
