There's a small typo in the beginning of this translation:
"Hopporunity" ---> "Hopportunity"
Also I think the pronoun "he" is misleading here: I believe, thus his mother, thus his free uncle, Thus his maternal grandfather and grandmother he said.
I think it would be better to render it: I believe, thus his mother, thus his free uncle, Thus his maternal grandfather and grandmother has said.
- in this way I think it corresponds better with the time and aspect of dixerat plus it shows that the subject of the verb can be (and probably is) all of the substantives in the nominative that are posted before it: mater, liber avunculus eius, maternus avus, avia
