| | Wouldn't it be better in the Spanish version of Carmen 109 to use the 'ustedes' (polite) form when addressing the gods? Hence:
Grandes dioses, hagan que pueda prometer verdaderamente...

The translation shall be the most faithful possible to the Latin test... Since he does adress to th gods you have to keep it in the translation!!! | |
